This is a place where you absolutely must stay!! We came upon it on accident. We rented a house in Crested Butte and decided to go a night earlier. We needed a place to stay and called The Ruby thinking it was a hotel. They gave us a great rate that we had seen on Trip Advisor even though the rate didn't apply to our needs. They asked about any special dietary issues and two of us are vegan. Our one night stay was amazing from the second we stepped into the B and B. I cannot begin to describe how every detail imaginable was covered: a guest refrigerator stocked with water and beer, fresh cookies out all the time, nuts and fruits out, teas and cappuccino machines, current books and magazines, tons of games, two floors of warm clean carpets and sofas, an array of toiletries and........THE MOST AMAZING BREAKFAST! There was fresh fruit juice, lattes, and vegan and gluten free hot gourmet delicacies!!! I have never had such a thoughtfully created and delicious meal. The owners were around, so warm spirited and genuinely happy to provide this experience. The saddest part of all was leaving and going to a vrbo with no games, used furniture, an absolutely empty refrigerator and pantry, and no yummy snacks. We kid about going to their door and begging to be allowed back! Next time we are here we absolutely will spend our entire stay at The Ruby.

Jimminy Christmas, I loved this B&B. My husband and I were here for our 4th wedding anniversary in August and just about couldn't have had a better visit. I say 'just about' because the actual owners weren't there for our stay (due to the whole bringing-a-new-baby-into-the-world thing) and according to the other (reoccurring) Ruby guests, the breakfast is usually just a little bit better...we had no issue with our delicious breakfast. Our room was cozy, clean, the bed was comfortable, there were great natural soaps in the bathroom and it was very quiet. The Ruby provided fresh baked goods, beer, wine, board for dogs, coffee, tea, lots of reading material about Crested Butte, a knowledgeable and friendly staff, BICYCLES! to get around town, as well as the opportunity to destroy my husband in Scrabble! Oh! And I almost forgot to mention the Anniversary gift they gave us upon arrival: chocolate covered strawberries. YUM Based on the fact that Crested Butte is what it would look like if Pleasantville made a baby with The Sound of Music, most of the guests we met at The Ruby were repeat guests, and our experience was so wonderful, we will be back. You need to go to there!

There is nothing better than waking up to the smell of fresh bacon, looking out the window and seeing over a foot of fresh powder at one of Colorado's greatest ski resorts, Crested Butte. The only thing better than the skiing was the food and accommodations at the Ruby. There are 3 essential components to a great B&B: 1. The Bed. You have to have an overly comfortable bed that you never want to get out of. 2. The Breakfast. The menu needs to be fresh, nutritious and creative. 3. The Inn Keepers. The owners or managers need to be attentive, interesting, fun and friendly. I must say that Andrea and Chris excel in all of these criteria and much more. Staying at the Ruby we felt as if we were staying at our really good friends house (who knew how to serve up a great breakfast). If you are staying in Crested Butte, summer, winter...whenever you have to stay here. It is walking distance from downtown CB and right next to the bus stop that takes you to the mountains.

I hesitate to give this Bed and Breakfast the five stars that it deserves because if people know how incredible it is, there will surely be a two year waiting list. Andrea and Chris were very nice, and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. This was my first time staying in a bed and breakfast, and definitely won't be the last. I could not have been happier with the Ruby. The food was fantastic, rooms were comfortable, and the house was quiet. If you're looking for a wonderful place to stay at Crested Butte, seriously consider the Ruby.

We just stayed a night at the Ruby and really enjoyed ourselves. We wish that we could have stayed over for more than one night, because it's really a beautiful spot. We were greeted as soon as we arrived by Emily, who immediately made us feel at home. We took a tour of the building - including the common areas, hot tub, dining area, and yard. Complimentary snacks, soda, beer, and wine only made our stay a little bit better ;) Breakfast was also to be complimentary and cooked by the chef/owner, but unfortunately we had to scoot out before the first seating of 8:00am. We let Emily know this, and she left fresh fruit/yogurt/granola in the fridge for us. AMAZING - Thank you! The location is also great. Just a 5min walk from Elk St (the main drag). There are also bikes that we were free to use to scoot in and out of town, but we did not partake in the use of the bikes due to the probability of us needing to operate the bikes while inebriated on our way back. Emily had some great recommendations of places to drink/dine, and we were not even close to disappointed. We were honestly just expecting a nice place to crash before heading out early to catch some AMAZING fall foliage...but we were treated to so much more. Thanks again!

Great place and a great staff. The bed was a decent bed. Not a wow type feather bed or anything but it was comfortable. The breakfasts were a nice mix of sweet and savory. Nothing over the top fancy but each with a slight twist to make them interesting. They have a fleet of cruiser bikes that guests use to get around town. And they also act as your concierge making suggestions and reservations for you. The owners are super nice and great fun to chat with. We'll definitely stay there on our next CB adventure.
